A vacancy for Communication Systems Product Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the Communications Architectures department.
Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
* Overall Comms System Engineering Activities Coordination (Time, Cost and Quality)
* Overall Comms L1 System Design and Documentation
* Supporting L1 Integration and Verification, Certification, Security Accreditation & Qualification
* Contribute to other Transport A/C programmes architecture activities as backup and support as part of a multi‑programme team
Main role activities will be the following:
* Manage – Support L1 and L2 technical baselines and technical reviews; Support Progress Reviews and Customer discussions; Participate in Configuration Management activities; Coordinate Comms L2/Systems contributions and design reviews; Interface with customer in Comms and MIDS Working Groups.
* Design and Support – Comms systems L1 Overall Design (FRDs, L1 Requirements, interfaces); Validate Comms L2 documentation (SRDs, SDNs, EIRDs, SIDs) coming from Comms Teams; Lead L1 Verification Requirements and Coverage Matrix; Support L1 Certification and Qualification Plans and Evidences; Coordinate System Reviews for Comms systems; Coordinate and Configuration Control of associated systems.
Required Skills and Experience
* Educated to degree level in Engineering; a valuable PhD/Telecommunications Engineering Degree is advantageous.
* Experience in Engineering.
* More than 5 years in system engineering or Communications/Avionics related jobs.
* Experience with at least one of the following platforms: Transport A/C – MRTT, C295/CN235/C212, A400M; UAS – Atlante, Neuron, or any other.
* Familiar with System Engineering processes (DPs / ABDs) applicable to at least one of the following platforms: MRTT, C295/CN235/C212, A400M.
* Familiar with airworthiness and certification processes, EASA or INTA based.
* Familiar with Comms systems, at least one of the following disciplines: Voice based Radio Communications (Radios, SATCOM, Intercom systems); IP/Digital based communications (Data links, ROVER, SATCOM, LTE, etc.); Tactical Datalinks (Link16, Link22, etc.).
* Awareness of cyber security implications for airborne platforms.
* Familiar with tools and competencies: Project management and planning; Reporting activities generation (DOORS, DMS); Model Based Systems Development as Simulink, Matlab, CAMEO; Problem solving and decision making; Assertiveness.
* English & Spanish: Fluent.
