Senior Specialist, Lean Portfolio Management
The recurrent tasks around Lean Portfolio Management are growing in the team and we need someone to help on the LPM duties in the DTS to support the LPM manager on the liaison with the stakeholders, their coaching and the tracking of the process.
You will be part of the DTS Lean Portfolio Management competences which helds these duties:
- Strategy & Investment Funding ensures the entire portfolio is aligned and funded to create and maintain the solutions needed to meet business targets.
- Agile Portfolio Operations coordinates and supports decentralized ART execution and fosters operational excellence.
- Lean Governance supports oversight of spending, audit, compliance, expenditure, measurement, and reporting.
We are looking for Lean Portfolio expert to join the team to manage the DTS Portfolio and orchestrate the lean-agile transformation of our organization. This role has a global scope and will be interacting with different Product Managers in the organization, Business Portfolio Leads and DTS Management, among other key stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate passionate on the topic of Lean Portfolio Management and working with the different stakeholders to develop a collaborative and transparent relationship to fulfill the DTS objectives. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in handling this portfolio operations, ideally in a multinational company.
Responsibilities
Agile Portfolio Operations: Portfolio Sync
1. Collect data from the Portfolio Sync to aggregate metrics and data for LPM performance measurement and decision-making
2. Normalize data collection across domains with aligned metrics
3. Assist synchs between ARTs and Solution Trains with relevant portfolio data
4. Manage frequency and cadence of LPM meetings, define agenda, objectives, calendars and share outcomes
5. Be the chairman of the LPM meetings, mandated to accept/reject EPICs format
Agile Portfolio Operations: Establish Portfolio flow
6. Work in collaboration with Business Owners, Product Management, System Architect/Eng and STEs/RTEs to define and maintain a Portfolio backlog and Kanban that enables work to flow into the different Program and Solution backlogs of the relevant ARTs
7. Drive the LPM towards implementing prioritization rules, Pull, WIP limit and flow throughout all Kanban layers
8. Support the creation of artifacts to define Epics & continuously assess the right quality of information in Epics (MVPs, Lean Business Cases…)
Agile Portfolio Operations: Foster Operation Excellence, Coordinate SAFe continuous Compliance and Value Streams
9. Coach and train leaders and people on LPM practices across the Business Domain and promote practices like agile contracting, lean budgeting, customer collaboration, etc. to enhance SAFe operating model
10. Drive the continuous improvement of the LPM process in the BU/BD, implementing improvements over time
11. Foster knowledge by participating in the Community of Practice (CoP) of Lean Portfolio Management within their unit and at BU level, helping increase overall maturity across the enterprise
12. Continuously align practices to Lean Governance and Portfolio operations guidelines established across the ARTs and Value Streams, managing risks and dependencies internally and in collaboration with BU/BD PM
13. Embody and educate on Lean-Agile and SAFe principles and values, and adhere to Enterprise Agility guardrails
14. Support SPCs in running Value Stream Identification Workshops and helping define and launch Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
15. Support for standard reporting patterns, shared best practices, and growth and spread of knowledge
Lean Governance: Measure Portfolio Performance
16. Define collectively, track and improve the metrics and KPIs against targets that measure the performance of the ARTs and Value Streams and the contribution to BU strategic goals in alignment with BU PM (Common KPIs with extra BD ones)
17. Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and assist the roll-up to Epics and Investment Areas, where necessary (by ART)
18. Assist in the construction of the capacity view and capacity review exercise (by ART)
19. Assist in the construction, evolution and communication of Budget guardrails at the appropriate level
20. Understand and operate within Lean Budgets principles and assist in adherence to Budget guardrails
21. Support and facilitate decision-making on funding of ARTs and Value Streams per Program Increment based on strategic objectives and Portfolio Kanban items
22. Strategy & Investment Funding: Connect the Portfolio to the Enterprise/BU Strategy
23. Support Business Owners and Epic Owners in expressing alignment of EPICs with the overall BU Strategic Themes objectives and key results adapted to their unit’s context
24. Support and facilitate decision-making on prioritization of EPICs
Strategy & Investment Funding: Maintain a Portfolio Vision and Roadmap
25. Support LPM strategic members (Business Owners and key stakeholders) on the creation and evolution of a Business Domain Portfolio Vision, Canvas and Roadmap (current & future states)
26. Support and facilitate decision-making on prioritization of EPICs
Strategy & Investment Funding: Maintain a Portfolio Vision and Roadmap
27. Support LPM strategic members (Business Owners and key stakeholders) on the creation and evolution of a Business Domain Portfolio Vision, Canvas and Roadmap (current & future states)
Education
University degree, or equivalent work experience
Relevant work experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in Kanban or similar Agile practices
SAFe knowledge and experience in Lean Portfolio Management is a strong plus
Business understanding
General knowledge of Amadeus fundamentals: history, business, offer, strategy, technology and organization.
Macro competency, covering all Amadeus products and services
