This role ensures that goods and services are sourced at the best possible value while maintaining quality standards. The position involves managing suppliers, reviewing contracts, overseeing bid proposals, and ensuring compliance with organizational requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and optimise suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, and availability.Approve purchases of high-quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in accurate quantities.Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.Provide guidance to staff on resolving issues related to undelivered or defective goods.Train team members on negotiation, renegotiation, and contract administration methods.Collaborate with staff, users, and vendors to assess defective or unacceptable goods and agree corrective actions.Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance and identify areas requiring change or improvement.Skills and CompetenciesStrong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.Proven negotiation capability.Ability to analyse financial reports, price proposals, and technical data.Accurate documentation and record-keeping skills.Knowledge of purchasing laws, regulations, and supply chain management.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant applications.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance or a related business field (required).10+ years of relevant finance or procurement experience.
