Context

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation (FPM) was established in 2008 with the mission of promoting and developing cutting‑edge biomedical research. The Foundation is fully committed to making a decisive contribution to finding global solutions to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, as well as raising public awareness so that scientific support for these challenges receives the priority it deserves.

The Foundation's research is carried out through the Barcelonaηta Brain Research Center (BBRC), a research center of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation established in 2012 with the participation of Pompeu Fabra University and the \"la Caixa\" Foundation.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation's vision is to achieve \"A Future Without Alzheimer’s,\" within a context of active and healthy aging, associated with positive experiences and free from problems and cognitive decline. To this end, BBRC's research focuses on the primary and secondary prevention of Alzheimer's disease, made possible by the participation of thousands of volunteers who contribute to scientific studies aimed at reducing the number of people affected in the near future.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a private, non‑profit organization. Its financial resources come from philanthropic donations from organizations and companies, as well as from a broad network of over 100,000 members who contribute to funding research. The center's scientific staff also obtain competitive grants and subsidies, primarily from European funds and international foundations.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a young, well‑established, and growing organization that, together with the BBRC, employs more than 250 professionals. The scientific team comprises researchers and specialists in medicine, biology, psychology, nursing, and other fields.
