As an SEO Director, you’ll own the strategy and execution for 1-2 clients in the mental health space. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role responsible for guiding client growth from discovery through implementation, evaluation, and optimization.

It requires a nuanced approach that balances technical expertise, strategic thinking, strong project ownership, and deep empathy for mental health and mental well‑being. You will act as a trusted partner to client leadership teams and play a critical role in helping mental health startups scale their impact globally.
Responsibilities
* Own client projects end‑to‑end, from discovery and strategy development through execution, measurement, and iteration.
* Lead SEO strategy and execution for 1‑2 high‑profile mental health clients, creating tailored approaches to help them scale sustainably.
* Drive measurable growth by prioritizing, executing, and optimizing large‑scale SEO initiatives across technical SEO, content, and on‑page optimization.
* Serve as the primary SEO owner for client engagements, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
* Act as a proactive growth partner, continuously identifying SEO, content, and technical opportunities to drive business impact—recommending improvements, fixes, and new initiatives without waiting for direction.
* Collaborate closely with marketing and cross‑functional teams (content, product, PR, communications) to align SEO initiatives with broader business goals.
* Track performance by building forecasts, setting targets, and delivering clear, data‑driven insights through regular reporting.
* Lead keyword research, content strategy development, on‑page optimizations, and testing initiatives to refine and improve client growth strategies.
Requirements
* At least 5 years of experience leading SEO initiatives, with a strong track record of driving organic growth through SEO strategy and execution.
* Experience owning SEO in in‑house or startup environments is strongly preferred.
* Passion for mental health and mental well‑being, with a thoughtful and empathetic approach to working in this space.
* Strong understanding of SEO strategies, particularly within health, wellness, or regulated industries.
* Demonstrated ability to own projects independently, make decisions, and drive execution without heavy oversight.
* Deep expertise with industry‑standard SEO tools and methodologies.
* Has operated as a growth owner or client manager, ideally leading strategy with founders or senior stakeholders.
* Has AI‑native SEO experience, specifically GEO/LLM search strategies and generative search visibility (not just using AI tools for content workflows).
