CLAUSE we are looking for a Breeder Associate to collaborate with the melon and pepper teams in our subsidiary based in Almeria (Spain).You will be part of an inspiring, dynamic and multicultural team.Reporting directly to the breeder of the melon and pepper teams of the subsidiary.**Descripción de la misión**:**What will be your mission and main functions?**Assist and collaborate with the breeder in implementing and setting strategies and objectives for the optimisation of the breeding programme. You will define and establish a technical and practical roadmap for all operational tasks: planning and experimental design of variety and line trials, crossing blocks, evaluation of varieties and breeding lines.Set up, define and organise phenotypic and genotypic data collection, as well as autonomously evaluate, analyse, interpret and report in line with the breeding plan. Updating the database and manage the operational computer system.Coordinate and communicate the breeding programme activities to the breeding assistant, whom you will supervise, and to the breeding technicians in order to carry them out in the established way, time and budget.Planning and assisting in marker assisted selection, pathology and plant annotation/evaluation in the field when necessary.You will be responsible for the organisation of the movement of seed and plant tissue, as well as for achieving excellence in the execution of all seed related tasks, in supervision of the breeding assistant, (extraction, traceability, labelling, storage, sanitary tests,...).Also, control the inventory of parental lines of selection material.**Competencias: lo que esperamos de usted**:**Studies and skills required**:Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, Degree... + Master's Degree in one of these fields of study: Biology / Biotechnology / Genetics / Agricultural Engineering.Computer skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with database systems.Ability to analyse and synthesise programme data autonomously.Passion for plant breeding.
