**Preferred Qualifications** 
This position is for a System Administrator in the Oracle NetSuite OpenAir Operations group focusing on providing high level System support in areas of monitoring, backups, capacity planning, high availability and researching new technology. In this role you will work with talented team of technologists responsible for maintaining production environments in the Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. 
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation but you will be expected to react to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools - escalating to management where appropriate and performing performance trend analysis and managing the server/network capacity and providing 24/7/365 support (Pager duties and off hour work will be required). Participating in configuration and implementation of technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system, at all times conforming to, defined policies and procedures. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Work under the guidance of the technical leads to implement, support, and secure network and server infrastructure as required 
- Provide technical leadership for, and participate in major systems improvement projects 
- Diagnose server and network related performance issues, and perform root-cause analysis 
- Monitor and analyse availability and capacity of networks, servers, and data centres 
- Perform general system configuration, backups, maintenance, and optimisation of server infrastructure 
- Perform routine checks and automate recurring tasks where ever applicable. 
- Be result oriented with tasks, completed with high sense of urgency and quality 
- Maintain system patch level to stay within security requirements 
- Resolve problems by executing Standard Operating Procedures and provide feedback and work towards improving of the procedures.

Key skills requirements 
- Must have 2+ years of extensive Unix System Administration experience with strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive. 
- Operating System: Linux administration in any distribution and Windows administration is a plus 
- Database: Knowledge on MySQL /Oracle database administration would be an added advantage 
- Understanding /reading /writing / troubleshooting SQL script would be an added advantage 
- Knowledge on Virtualisation and Scripting would be an added advantage. 
- Knowledge of Active directory, Users & Permissions / Security troubleshooting 
- Working knowledge on AWS, EC2 would be an added advantage 
**Qualifications**: 
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Computer Science or 4-5 years relevant industry experience. 
- Deep understanding of operating system concepts, services, and security requirements for an on-line service 
- Experience with virtualisation; KVM, Hyper-V, VMware, cloud technology like EC2 
- Must be able to work effectively under high stress 24/7/365 on-call conditions supporting fast paced production hosted environments 
- Good scripting skills, preferably in sh/csh/perl 
- Good understanding of storage concepts and requirementse.g. NFS, disk IO bottlenecks, enterprise storage, fibre channel 
- Working knowledge of DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, LDAP, PXE/DHCP/TFTP 
- Some experience with management of large compute and serving clusters and associated issues such as automation, configuration management, deployment, inventory, hardware troubleshooting, system troubleshooting, etc. (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a plus) 
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, firewall, networking protocols and security concepts 
- Working experience with open source LAMP stacks to include CentOS, Apache, MySQL, Perl, Terraform, Foreman, SaltStack, Gluster, Logstash, etc 
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background 
- Certification(s) in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a value add 
- Certification(s) in Linux administration (RHEL) 
- Prior experience in providing remote support 
- Prior experience in monitoring and managing datacentre 
- Prior experience in mission-critical support role
