THE CHALLENGE

The Creators who host these events leverage Eventbrite daily as their primary partner for delivering unforgettable experiences to consumers. As a Director of Engineering, you will inspire, mentor, and develop the team that builds high-quality, scalable, and secure systems that ensure the retention of our Creators through tooling, automation, and leveraging our data.
THE TEAM

THE ROLE
1. Build Strong Leaders - Grow a group of team leaders through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development.
2. Recruit - Build a diverse team of talented engineers with clear hiring strategies.
3. Technical Skills - Possess strong technical expertise to identify risks and develop simple, cost-effective solutions.
4. Drive product and team transformations to create resilient, high-performance, customer-focused software.
5. Participate in infrastructure and application design, emphasizing scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
6. Partner with product and business leaders to achieve goals efficiently and predictably.
7. Ensure operational excellence by resolving customer bugs and incidents within SLAs.
THE SKILL SET
* Leadership experience managing engineering teams and scaling technology and people.
* Experience leading rapid development cycles, including A/B testing.
* Experience building financial systems similar to Eventbrite, understanding vendor landscapes.
* Knowledge of SOX compliance for US public companies.
* Proven ability to develop roadmaps, execute with high performance, and implement operational processes for service improvement.
* Collaborative mindset, working closely with product management, design, data, and finance teams.
* Work with security teams to ensure system and network security.
* Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts and inspire teams.
* Proven success in recruiting, hiring, and retaining technical talent.
* Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving organizations.
* Experience working with US companies and building global teams.
TECH STACK
Our legacy stack includes Python and Django on AWS with MySQL Aurora. We are migrating to a diverse stack with Kotlin, NodeJS, React, DynamoDB, Lambdas, and microservices, emphasizing team autonomy and managed services.
