Join our team and build the future of space technology
We are expanding our team at Alén Space and are looking for a Mission Analysis & Technical Budgets Engineer with passion for what you do, talented, and experienced to join our Space Missions area. The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out low-level mission analysis, including all related details. They will perform orbital analyses and technical budgets (power, delta-V, data, pointing) based on the mission objectives, as well as requirements traceability. They will also implement the CONOPS defined by Systems Engineering in STK and participate in thermal analyses.
What you will be doing?
1. Perform mission analysis tasks for small satellite missions (orbit selection, orbit propagation, coverage, access windows, ΔV requirements, station passes).
2. Develop and maintain technical budgets (power, delta-V, pointing, etc).
3. Support verification by analysis of mission-level requirements.
4. Conduct thermal analysis (desirable, not required). Contribute to the development and evolution of internal mission analysis tools (Python-based).
5. Use STK to perform mission analysis and generate key performance indicators (KPIs).
6. Document results and contribute to technical reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.).
7. Interface with Systems Engineering and other teams to ensure coherence across mission performance budgets.
8. Support design iterations through analytical justification of key design decisions.
What do we need in our team?
1. Fluency in English (written and spoken).
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in space missions, preferably with small satellites or CubeSats.
3. Solid knowledge of orbital mechanics and mission analysis methods.
4. Experience in technical budget development (power, ΔV, pointing, etc).
5. Proficiency in Python for data analysis and tool development.
6. Experience with STK for mission analysis.
7. Experience in space radiation analysis.
8. Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
Candidate qualifications and skills
1. Work remotely 60% of the time.
2. Flexible start/finish times; reduced intensive working hours on Fridays and in summer, Monday to Friday.
