Commissioning Technical Support Engineer

Job Description Summary
The engineer will be the key technical person from supplier manufacturing through offshore operations. Responsibilities include validating asset reception, de‑risking technical issues, preparing commissioning protocols, aligning with design and operations teams, and ensuring quality and EHS excellence from onshore to offshore sites, until project closure.
Significant Activities
* Collaborate with design and operations teams to develop commissioning test plans.
* Validate asset receipt to mitigate technical risks.
* Prepare commissioning protocols and support documentation for Haliade commissioning.
* Assist the back‑office purchasing team with tooling and spares lists.
* Develop relationships with customers for technical commissioning aspects.
* Provide onsite and remote technical support, manage defects, and ensure commissioning timelines.
* Lead technical and operational improvements during commissioning.
* Drive process improvements focused on digitalization, data analytics, and EHS compliance.
* Analyze data for continuous improvement in operational safety and quality.
* Communicate recommendations through technical presentations.
* Support cost sheet preparation and improve offers based on technical analysis.
* Uphold quality standards and documentation adherence.
* Represent the organization to promote Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
Nature and Scope of Responsibilities
* Ensure adherence to test plans and safety rules.
* Exercise autonomy in wind farm commissioning technical support activities.
* Lead improvement initiatives and workshops.
* Share best practices globally.
* Participate in tender quotation processes.
* Act as a trainer for the team and streamline resolution of main problems.
Working Relationships
Reports to the Commissioning Technical Support Leader; supports project execution teams, supervisors, and technicians locally and remotely. Interfaces with installation and mechanical-electrical teams to uphold safety best practices and manages partnerships for technical guidance.
Professional Skills Required
* 10+ years of Offshore Wind Farm experience.
* Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
* Proven track record in wind turbine technical support and team leadership.
* Experience with power converters and commissioning tooling management.
* Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility, motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
* Experience with quality tools and systems.
* Strong communication skills and goal‑driven.
* Proficiency in English for global procedures.
Pre‑requisite EHS
* Strong safety culture and ability to uphold GE EHS requirements.
* Knowledge of HV EHS safety systems.
