We are creating a European Automation HUB based in Barcelona, from which commissioning projects will be delivered across Europe.
We are looking for a hands-on System Commissioning Engineer whose main role is to perform on-site commissioning at customer facilities.
This is a field-based role with extensive travel across Europe (approx. 50-60%), with trips typically lasting 5 to 15 days.
When not on site, the role can be performed remotely; candidates based in Barcelona may also work from the office if desired.
Your role
Perform on-site system commissioning and start-up of automated solutions at customer locations across Europe.
Execute functional, performance, FAT and SAT tests to ensure systems meet specifications.
Identify, analyse and troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate closely with project managers, engineering teams and customers during commissioning phases.
Prepare commissioning documentation, reports and support final system handover to the client.
Train customers on system operation and basic maintenance.
Ensure all activities comply with safety and EHS standards.
What we are looking for
Engineering background (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or similar).
Proven experience as a commissioning / start-up engineer in automation environments.
AGV/AMR knowledge or experience is highly valued.
PLC knowledge required (programming experience is a plus).
Ability to work autonomously on customer sites.
Strong customer-oriented mindset and communication skills.
Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
Candidates can be based anywhere in Spain, provided they have access to an international airport.
