Main Functions
* Lead the execution (all MCPPP phases) of the major capital projects in the renewable fuels area as agreed with the project Steering Committee; lead strategic projects as required.
* Manage the stage‑gate development process as required.
* Specify minimum standards / engineering standards for the facility. Ensure that the global technical standards are available and used in the region to ensure safe and reliable design of plants and grain silos.
* Approval of suppliers, together with the purchasing area and business areas.
* Ensure consistent and accurate reporting on project implementation and schedule management.
* Work with external consultants and partners in prospecting, contracting, and conducting collaboration projects.
* Periodically report the progress and status of the projects.
* Ensure expert network collaboration and liaise with global best‑practice leaders to align practices and standards in renewable fuel projects. Disseminate basic concepts of Project Management through periodic training for involved staff.
* Identify, negotiate and support the resolution of issues within and between various streams and stakeholders as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical/Automation related engineering preferred.
* Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
* 20+ years of engineering experience with at least 10 years of people‑management experience.
* Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering and operations.
* 10 years of experience managing major engineering/construction projects including estimating, scheduling, and cost control; experience in oilseed handling and processing is preferred.
* Working knowledge of safety, environmental, sustainability, quality and continuous improvement.
* Proficiency in project‑management methodologies.
* Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership concepts.
* General understanding of business performance indicators such as WACC, RONA and project economics.
* Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with both plant staff and craft personnel.
* Ability to gain stakeholder support for ideas, proposals and solutions, and to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support.
* Travel availability of approximately 25% of the time.
