About the CML Advocates Network
The CML Advocates Network (CMLAN) is an international network for leaders of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) patient groups, connecting 131 organizations across 96 countries. It facilitates best practice sharing among patient advocates worldwide. Hosted by the Leukemia Patient Advocates Foundation (LePAF) in Switzerland, it is governed by a Steering Committee of six regional CML patient advocates and three co founders.
Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a strategic, motivated individual to serve the global CML community and support those affected by this chronic condition.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Governance: Lead the network, support its mission, and implement its vision and strategy. Communicate effectively with the Steering Committee and ensure good governance.
2. Financial Performance: Maintain fiscal integrity, oversee budgeting, financial management, and ensure sustainability through fundraising.
3. Strategy and Operations: Develop and evaluate strategic plans, oversee programs, and ensure the relevance and impact of the networks work.
4. Network Operations & HR: Manage daily operations, staff, and administrative policies. Conduct regular staff meetings and oversee project launches.
5. Communications: Enhance public image, oversee communication activities, and develop partnerships. Maintain active engagement with stakeholders and respond to members'' needs.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Required Skills include: Leadership experience in non profit roles, negotiation, project management, public speaking, personnel management, grant writing, and proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Toggl. Experience with pharma funding, legal matters, and medical conferences is desirable. Knowledge of mind mapping, QuickBooks Online, and Toggl is preferred. Experience in patient advocacy or related content creation is a plus.
Additional Conditions
Location: preferably within an EU Member State.
Willingness to travel approximately 30 days per year and work outside standard hours if needed.
