Senior Software Engineer (Backend Focus) Location: Open to Spain, Alicante and Rome, Italy; no relo provided Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in office Context & Impact We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Recognition & DataCore Team in Rome, Italy. This role sits within a growing engineering group working on complex cloud computing challenges — designing and maintaining the cloud native data pipeline engine that powers the Lansweeper platform. Your work will directly impact how Lansweeper ingests, processes, enriches, and reconciles massive asset and inventory datasets across customer environments worldwide. In the short term, you’ll focus on evolution and maintenance of our distributed data pipeline. In the long run, you’ll contribute to architecture improvements, new data processing capabilities, and platform scalability to support our next generation of technology asset intelligence. Challenge The main challenges you'll face are: Enhancing and maintaining a high performance data pipeline for Lansweeper Discovery and the broader Lansweeper Platform Tackling complex ETL, enrichment, and data reconciliation problems in a cloud environment Working within a largescale distributed architecture to continuously improve performance, quality, and reliability Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud native data processing services in Java and Go Operate in an AI‑augmented workflow : decompose problems, guide AI tools, review AI‑generated output, and enforce production‑grade quality Own technical decisions, ensuring that AI‑generated code aligns with architectural direction and long‑term system health Contribute to architecture design, system evolution, and cross‑team technical strategies Implement and optimize ETL workflows and data enrichment pipelines Build RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and backend integrations Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to deliver stable, maintainable code Ensure test automation, code quality, and CI/CD best practices across the data platforms Hard Skills 6 years of software engineering experience, ideally as a Senior Software Engineer in cloudbased or datadriven systems Practical experience using AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation Hands-on experience with any of the following: Java and Go (Preferred) and/or Python, Spark, Spring, TypeScript Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, ArgoCD), Git, Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) Experience with testing frameworks (Mockito, Testcontainers, Localstack) and observability tools (Grafana, OpenSearch) Soft Skills Excellent teamwork and communication skills Strong problem-solving ability in complex, distributed systems Ownership mindset and comfort operating in an agile and collaborative environment Our Offer Competitive salary aligned with market benchmarks in Italy Benefits package including health insurance and meal vouchers Hybrid working model – based in Rome with flexibility to work from home Professional growth and learning programs About Lansweeper: Lansweeper is the AI Cyber Asset Intelligence platform helping IT and Security teams gain full visibility, reduce cyber risk, and scale automation with confidence.
