About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC‑CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences). Earth System Services Group (ESS) at the Earth Sciences Department conducts interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research to enhance the societal value of environmental information, climate prediction and air quality services. The group actively engages with society, decision‑makers, and businesses to exchange knowledge and develop user‑oriented services.
Context and Mission
The ESS group’s Knowledge Integration Team is looking for a motivated Knowledge Translation specialist to work on knowledge translation activities related to climate services. The successful candidate will contribute to connecting emerging knowledge and services that aim to support resilience and climate change adaptation to diverse stakeholders. The role involves capacity to carry out knowledge co‑production processes to involve various stakeholders and users of climate information in the creation and co‑evaluation of new climate knowledge and services. The candidate will assure the societal, scientific, or business use of the new knowledge and services provided in the projects and will closely collaborate with climate, social, impact scientists and communication experts. Experience in interdisciplinarity and international research teams, proven experience in science communication, and organisation of stakeholder engagement activities are key.
Key Duties
* Engage with stakeholders from different sectors and domains to conduct knowledge co‑production and co‑evaluation.
* Carry out co‑evaluation and exploitation tasks within EU funded projects (e.g., Imetus4Change, Climateurope2).
* Attend project meetings and work on reporting, evaluation of undertaken actions and support of ESS group knowledge translation materials.
* Coordinate with other projects and initiatives to exchange knowledge and organise dissemination and user‑engagement activities at events.
* Engage with non‑academic entities, including business and community, to ensure exploitation of new climate knowledge and services.
* Travel to events and workshops.
Requirements
* Education: Undergraduate degree in the sciences required. Master or PhD in climate related fields, science communication, and community engagement valued.
* Essential Experience: More than four years in knowledge co‑production, co‑evaluation, and community engagement; prior work on climate change adaptation.
* Additional Experience: Professional experience with European institutions or international organisations; experience writing research project proposals; experience with science communication, design, and user interface design valued.
* Competences: Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Spanish and Catalan highly desired; ability to work in a professional, interdisciplinary, international team.
Conditions
* Position located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department.
* Full‑time contract (37.5 h/week), flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support for relocation procedures.
* Holidays: 22 days + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st December per collective agreement.
* Salary: competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, according to cost of living in Barcelona.
* Starting date: 15 February 2026.

Recruitment Process
The selection will be conducted through a competitive examination system ("Concurso‑Oposición") with two phases:
1. Curriculum Analysis (40 points): Evaluation of previous experience and scientific history.
2. Interview Phase (60 points): Technical competencies, knowledge, skills, professional experience, and personal competencies. Minimum 30 points out of 60 required to advance.
Panel composition: at least three people with at least 25% representation of women.
