DESCRIPTION
The position for a Cook at Sir Victor is for a detail-oriented, reliable individual to join our growing team. You will play a key role in managing all aspects of the kitchen department of the restaurant, delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities include maintaining quality, increasing profitability, and working efficiently with high standards. This position requires working in shifts, including bank holidays, weekends, evenings, or nights.
Ultimately, you’ll ensure our building is safe, clean, and inviting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
* Prepare dishes according to recipes and specified quantities.
* Communicate shortages promptly to the sous chef or head chef.
* Study relevant subjects for future advancement.
* Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment.
* Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting).
* Cook food using various utensils or grillers, monitoring during cooking.
* Ensure dishes are well-presented before serving.
* Maintain a sanitized and organized kitchen environment.
* Store food and items properly.
* Check the quality of ingredients.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
* Proven experience as a cook.
* Experience with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
* Knowledge of various cooking methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.).
* Ability to follow sanitation procedures.
* Ability to work well in a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good physical condition and stamina.
* Flexible and hardworking.
* Fluency in English and Spanish.
* Willingness to learn and work hard.
* High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma is a plus.
