Assist and support the Associate Director of Statutory & Tax and ATC Audit Manager in all statutory and tax requirements related to the daily activities of the Spanish legal entities, including VAT and corporate Income Tax (CIT) planning and execution. Responsible for supervising and supporting the statutory team accounting clerks to ensure completion of statutory tasks and goals, including coaching, training, monitoring, and review of work performed. Ensure adherence to guidance and instructions from senior management. Identify and highlight potential tax, statutory, and operational risks, and train staff to recognize issues. Manage all VAT and Intercompany reporting requirements for the Spanish entities, ensuring timely completion of critical tasks.
Critical Tasks
1. Review monthly Intercompany Analysis to ensure correct categorization of transactions.
2. Prepare quarterly Intercompany Matrices for reconciliation and review of new transactions against agreements.
3. Report any unsupported transactions.
4. Prepare transfer pricing validations and review annual transfer pricing reports.
5. Prepare, submit, and reconcile Tax Return 232.
6. Supervise VAT return preparations, ensuring reconciliation to reported invoices and control accounts.
7. Oversee reverse charging/self-invoices for intercompany services included in VAT returns.
8. Supervise VAT base reconciliations, coordinate data collection, and resolve discrepancies.
9. Improve analysis of P&L accounts and reporting processes for efficiency and automation.
10. Prepare intercompany loan analysis and interest calculations.
11. Review vendor notifications to ensure correct VAT application and collaborate with Accounts Payable for setup.
12. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation.
13. Collaborate with other departments to improve processes, procedures, and controls.
14. Support CIT and statutory financial statement information as needed.
15. Develop relationships with financial staff, auditors, and tax authorities.
16. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and internal control enhancements.
17. Maintain a strong control environment and adhere to SOPs and internal controls.

Competencies and Attributes
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technical skills; bilingual in Spanish and English preferred; dependable, adaptable, and proactive.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; minimum 2 years of accounting experience, with knowledge of Spanish GAAP and tax requirements. Supervisory experience is a plus.
