The fruit and vegetable industry is highly dynamic, with factors like heat or persistent rain affecting prices and volumes. One week the price is high, the next week the market may plummet. Every day, we highlight the stories from this fluctuating sector.

In this role you will focus on the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector.
\n
For this position, it is important that you live in the province of Almería. This region is known as 'the vegetable garden of Europe'.
\n
This job is remote and on a freelance basis.
\n
What you’ll do
\nAs a Commercial Editor, you’ll be part of the FreshPlaza.es editorial team.\n
In this role, you’ll build a network in the fruit and vegetable sector and inform and advise business owners to help them successfully promote their products. This involves writing articles and selling ads to boost their visibility. You’ll also be the point of contact for (potential) clients and will maintain relationships with advertisers.
\n
No day is the same: one day you write several short pieces, and another day you have a story that requires more research, conducting an interview or making (photo) reports.
\n
Several times a year, you visit trade fairs and/or events where you create (photo) reports and prepare them for online publication.
\n
Prior knowledge of the fruit and vegetable sector is not required; we will train you. However, we are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive: you excel at promoting and selling advertisements and banners and are determined to increase your monthly sales.
\n
Are you the sales expert with a keen sense of opportunities, and can you communicate in a clear and engaging way? Whether it’s a short news item or an interview, you extract the most important information and turn it into an easy-to-read article.

Your tasks will be:

- Writing articles and news reports

- Conducting and transcription interviews
\n
- Collect information and following up on news topics
\n
- Promoting and selling advertisements and banners
\n
- Building and maintaining a network
\n
- Informing and advising (potential) clients
\n
- Maintaining contact with advertisers
\n
- Visit trade fairs and/or events where you create (photo) reports and prepare them for online publication

\nWhat you bring\n
\n
- Living in the province of Almería
\n
- Bachelor’s level of thinking and working
\n
- Fulltime availability
\n
- Strong communication skills and excellent command of the Spanish and English language, spoken and written
\n
- Relevant experience with sales, writing and publishing, preferably you have an editorial or journalistic background
\n
- A natural networker, social, commercially minded and not afraid of deadlines
\n
- Ability to quickly build a network of companies and contacts
\n
- Always looking for commercial opportunities and able to act on them
\n
