Purpose
Under the direction of the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President, Sales – Western Europe (WE) has the responsibility for all business development/sales activities in the targeted territory Western Europe, specified direct countries, including developing the footprint of the organization within the territory.
The Vice President, Sales – WE will be responsible for creating significant new revenue streams and on-going business opportunities to ensure that BVI medical meets or exceeds bookings, revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction objectives in those countries for our customers. The Vice President, Sales – WE will develop and foster relationships with key customer executives and decision-makers, acquire an intimate understanding of the customer’s business, and create new business opportunities for BVI medical by identifying emerging regions and customer needs and formulating the appropriate solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Overall budget responsibility for WE region
Responsible for prospecting, qualifying and creating significant new revenue streams and on-going business opportunities to ensuring region meets or exceed
bookings, revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction objectives for WE.
Building 5 year Growth Plan – sales and investments. P&L management.
Developing and deploying strategic account plans for all target accounts that delineate goals and growth strategies for each relationship.
Representing the product, services and support needs through Directors of the
customer base and marketplace to the appropriate line organizations at headquarters and working closely with marketing and product development to ensure tight alignment with product planning and the development of the product roadmap. This includes presenting opportunities for evaluation that could expand the company’s market and product reach (in-licensing, acquisitions,
divestments,…)
Liaise with regulatory to ensure appropriate regulations for sale are in place
Evaluate and secure new business opportunities through targeted new prospects and expansion of existing clients in the assigned territory.
Learn and understand BVI products, services, pricing and markets. Keep current with BVI plans and developments. Remain current on relevant industry and specialty topics as needed to perform other duties at the highest possible level.
Determine customer needs, match BVI’s capabilities to those needs, and position BVI as the choice amongst competitors.
Build our brand and awareness for services capabilities, create new sales, successfully positioning the company’s strategy, vision and market leadership with key business executives and functional decision-makers in all customers and prospects
Manage sales process, ensuring opportunities are qualified technically and commercially, build the pipeline, run or assist as necessary with meetings ensuring that the teams, process and preparedness on both the buyer and seller side are appropriate
Schedule BVI personnel in support of business development activities as needed including Directing any travel arrangements and support
Direct administrative duties necessary to conduct job such as creating and maintaining up-to-date company files, electronic records including contacts, quotes and forecast records in Salesforce.com.
Identify target opportunities, customers. Provide market and customer feedback for product development & marketing. Attend and support relevant industry conferences and events.
Provide weekly status reports and forecast updates using whatever system required
Manage Senior Sales And Other Functions Senior Staff
May be a legal representative of country legal entities
Qualification
15 plus years in ophthalmology surgical sales
Impressive growth record in multiple geographies with market share increase Europe
Sales experience in Europe of 8 plus years
Previous management responsibilities with large P&L. Sales USD 500m to 1b. People leadership: 500-3000. Developing General Managers with proven track record of internal succession planning and external talent pool.
Successful experience in managing distributors and direct teams in key countries.
Experience in setting up new businesses and legal entities. Hiring cross-functional teams. Demonstrated impact on KOLs, top surgeons – with expansion of accounts, equipment deployment and cross-selling (IOLs, Consumables, Surgical Fluids). Involving KOLs with product and equipment development.
