ADP is hiring a Principal Architect – Applications

In this role, you will collaborate with ADP product owners to understand their challenges in developing, upgrading, or enhancing our products. You will design technical solutions and guide a team of developers through implementation.
Daily, you will promote architectural initiatives that drive revenue and efficiency in line with business strategy. Your day will start with a scrum to set priorities, followed by creating designs to guide developers. You may also code critical components yourself. As a team lead, you will communicate and collaborate across teams, serving as a technical authority.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Blueprints and Strategy: Influence and govern architectural blueprints, promoting initiatives that generate revenue, improve efficiency, and support business goals, ensuring solutions meet enterprise and local needs.
Scrums: Conduct daily scrums to clarify responsibilities, identify issues, and prioritize design and coding tasks.
Coding: Design solutions and sometimes code using tools like Java, Angular, .NET. Review team code, refine designs, and handle critical coding tasks.
Challenges: Address and resolve inevitable challenges, seeking innovative solutions.
Learning and Mentoring: Serve as the technical expert, developing fixes, and mentoring team members. Embrace collaboration and feedback to strengthen designs.
Variety of Tasks: Balance design, mentoring, quality assurance, security, UX, and other responsibilities daily.
Experience: 8+ years in relevant roles, with extensive expertise in software development and architecture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus over 12 years of experience in software development, with a focus on architecture in data-intensive environments.
Deep knowledge across software engineering disciplines, experience with architectural patterns, API management (Mulesoft preferred), microservices, AWS cloud, Java, Python, C#/.NET, Angular, databases, and DevOps/CI/CD principles.
Strong collaboration skills with business stakeholders, leadership in design reviews, mentoring, and excellent communication, especially in distributed teams.
