Purpose of the position
The Director of C&I Solutions is responsible for developing SMA's Commercial and Industrial business within designated markets. This role involves managing, developing, and maintaining positive key business partnerships and stakeholder relationships aligned with segment market priorities. The scope includes the C&I solar, storage, and EV charging portfolio (Hardware, Software, Services) with current and future business models.
Key responsibilities
1. Manage sales, revenue generation, and business development of the Commercial & Industrial segment within the region, collaborating with the global C&I business team and regional management.
2. Analyze regional market data to inform strategic development for the segment.
3. Design and implement regional strategic segment plans aligned with global strategies to meet business targets.
4. Manage financial performance, KPIs, and forecast accuracy for the markets.
5. Understand customer groups and target verticals within the C&I sector.
6. Drive the placement of the C&I solution portfolio through various sales channels and partners.
7. Build industry relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners.
8. Promote customer-centricity and an end-to-end perspective within the team to enhance customer experience and meet segment targets.
9. Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Enablement on messaging, value selling, and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Tertiary qualifications in Business or Engineering.
2. At least 7 years of experience in sales or business development, with knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry.
3. Experience managing relationships in an industrial company within a matrix and multifunctional environment, preferably in renewable energy sectors.
4. Proven ability to negotiate and close contracts and develop successful customer and partner relationships.
5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate and build trust.
6. Excellent intercultural communication skills.
7. Customer and success-oriented, flexible, and capable of working independently and in teams.
8. Entrepreneurial spirit with a problem-solving mindset.
9. Willingness to travel internationally.
10. Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian, French, or Spanish is a plus.

Reports to the Vice President of C&I Solutions for Western & Southern Europe.
