Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Intern to join our team on an industrial placement as part of your university degree. This role is starting in September 202 6 and will provid e you with hands-on training in core penetration testing methodologies and the technical skills required to excel in the cyber security industry. As a member of FSP’s established Cyber Engineering & Testing team, you will be working alongside experienced cyber security engineers, contributing to client engagements and the creation of internal tools. This role works closely with colleagues and clients in the UK, so fluency in English is a prerequisite. Responsibilities Contribute to the design, coding, and maintenance of internal security tools and automation scripts to streamline our testing processes Assist our wider C yber Enginee ring & Test ing team on client engagements Help write technical reports for clients, translating complex vulnerabilities into actionable remediation advice Bui ld relevant know ledg e of industry-standard tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, and various vulnerability scanners Explor e vulnerabilities within cloud-native environments like AWS, Azure and GCP Ensure f amiliar ity with the OWASP Top 10 and how to identify flaws in modern web architecture Help with testing physical devices and IoT hardware About You Possess a genuine interest in the offensive security landscape Experience d with coding (Python, Go, or Bash preferred) and D ocker Demonstrable understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles, networking and operating systems Proven experience with platforms like HackTheBox, TryHackMe, or participation in CTFs An analytical, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn Fluent in English, with the ability to work effectively with UK-based colleagues and client Strong documentation skills for both client engagements and tooling documentation Starting or within the final year of university (degree to be completed 2027) What w e l ook for in o ur i nterns Alignment with FSP values and a collaborative mindset A proactive and curious approach to learning and development Strong communication and interpersonal skills Good organisation and attention to detail Pride in producing high-quality work Enthusiasm for contributing to a supportive team culture Who are FSP?
