Business Development at argenx
The argenx Business Development team operates at the intersection between our, development, tech-ops and business teams and other supporting functions to identify, source and execute on opportunities to collaborate, partner, license, acquire and divest assets to support the long-term strategy of argenx. It has a unique position to help drive our ambition to bring innovations to patients in need by supporting our teams in achieving their objectives through expertise and excellence in deal execution, negotiation, contracting and stakeholder management.

As (Senior) Director Business Development you have a natural ability to build a network of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and deliver a project or deal from beginning-to-end. You have an eye for detail and care not just about the end result but also the way in which the results are delivered.
The role of Director BD Tech-Ops has a specific focus on the growing portfolio of partners and collaborators for our Tech-Ops team. Our global Tech-Ops (technical operations, also known as CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control) together with Supply Chain and Distribution) team is responsible for the sourcing, manufacturing, presentation, packaging and distribution of our innovative medicines to patients globally. The argenx Tech-Ops team works in close concert with our scientists developing new programs, our commercial team to drive various product presentations, steer our global network of drug substance and drug product manufacturers (CDMOs), as well as distributors, warehouses, analytical partners and vendors.
As Director BD Tech-Ops, you are focused on driving our global CDMOs partnerships to the next-level of excellence and co-creation by providing commercial support to the Tech-Ops team, driving vendor selections, terms negotiations, contracting, and close alliance management along the Tech-Ops content experts and business owners. You are member of the Business Development team but with day-to-day alignment and collaboration with the Global Head of Tech-Ops and the Tech-Ops team.
Compentencies and Skills- Proven ability in strategic deal making (with CDMOs) and basic knowledge of biologics manufacturing;-
- Proactively identifies criterial process items and deal success factors; resolves internal or external bottlenecks and roadblocks to achieve our corporate objectives;- Leads negotiations and has proven conflict resolution abilities and strives for win-win outcomes for argenx and its partners;- Able to drive deal structuring and contracting across deal types on all aspects including scope, value, structure, liability and governance;- Able to efficiently identify key business questions, value drivers and liabilities in a (potential) partnership and optimizes for these drivers;- Actively supports building long-term collaborations with our Tech-ops partners and supports operationalizing new and existing deals, taking alliance management responsibility as needed, proactively identifying and resolving any issues together with other stakeholders;- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to independently lead deal processes and stakeholder management to drive internal decision making;- Represents argenx to external stakeholders and partners; ambassador of argenx cultural values internally and externally; and- Proven ability to mentor junior BD team members and actively engage in team building.
Qualifications and Experience- Minimum 8-10 years experience, including in;
- Business development, alliance management, licensing, contracting;
