What's the challenge?
As Space Missions Chief Engineer, you will report to the Head of the Systems Engineering Competence Centre and take the technical leadership of ongoing and future End‑to‑End missions.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and the Project Office (PMO), ensuring technical excellence across all spacecraft subsystems throughout the mission lifecycle.
Your contributions will include:
Provide technical direction and leadership to the engineering teams.
Define, develop, and manage the overall technical baseline of the spacecraft.
Lead the preparation and execution of major design reviews.
Ensure spacecraft compliance with mission and system requirements.
Develop key engineering documentation such as:
System specifications
Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Verification and test plans
Assess and approve technical completion and compliance.
Drive innovative design approaches and advise teams on technical solutions.
Oversee spacecraft production, integration, and delivery.
What do we need?
The candidate must be an experienced Space Missions Chief Engineer, capable of assuming full responsibility as technical leader within assigned projects.
The candidate should have some, but not all, of the following skills:
Operational experience in end‑to‑end space missions.
In-depth knowledge of spacecraft systems and subsystems.
Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, radiation, or propulsion systems.
Experience with space-related analysis and design tools such as:
CATIA
NASTRAN / PATRAN
ESATAN
FASTRAD
Hands-on approach to cross-functional technical issues.
Knowledge of New Space methodologies and techniques.
Experience with low-level integration and testing activities.
Additional valued skills include:
Knowledge of MBSE tools such as Capella or Valispace.
Familiarity with ECSS standards or other space-related regulations.
Educational background:
Preferred Aerospace Engineer.
Professional experience:
More than 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
Language skills:
English:
B2 level minimum.
