Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Learning Support Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is designed for a learning specialist who engages collaboratively to co‑create and implement Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and Accommodation Plans (APs) to effectively meet the diverse learning needs of students. You will lead specialized support classes, co‑teach within subject blocks, and manage individualized learning plans that empower every student to reach their potential.
We are specifically looking for an educator with experience working with middle school students and within a Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS). The ideal candidate can expertly identify student needs, provide targeted interventions particularly for reading, math, Executive Functioning, ADHD, and ASD and monitors progress across both academic and behavioral tiers.
Essential Qualifications and Responsibilities:
* Collaborative Design: Partner with teachers, families, and students to co‑create and manage actionable ILPs and Accommodation Plans.
* MTSS Framework: Collaborate to support teachers in implementing strong Tier 1 instruction, and use assessment data to determine intervention support needs and ILP goal progress as part of a multi‑tiered system of support.
* Neurodiversity Specialist: Deliver evidence‑based interventions for students with learning needs including ADHD, dyslexia, and ASD.
* Executive Functioning Coaching: Provide explicit support for learners to improve organization, self‑regulation, and study habits.
* Inclusive Co‑Teaching: Work alongside classroom teachers to support whole‑class lessons and focused small‑group work based on student needs.
* Data‑Driven Progress: Monitor intervention plans and ILP/AP goals to identify students needing additional interventions or outside evaluation.
Preferred School‑Wide Qualifications
* Five years of recent work experience as a learning specialist
* Experience working in an internationally and linguistically diverse school setting
* Licensed in Special Education
* Experience with data‑driven assessment tools that facilitate differentiated instruction
* Evidence of recent professional development activities
* Effective oral and written communication within a school community
* Ability to integrate instructional technology into the curriculum
* Familiarity and experience with the Spanish language at the beginner/intermediate level
Conditions and Benefits
* Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 - 16:00 (Wednesdays until 17:30).
* Compensation: ASB base teacher salary with a free three‑course lunch on workdays.
