Protecnium Construction Manager Job Description
Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our team for a construction project in the USA.
Project Location: The project will be developed between The Woodlands and Leon County, Texas.
Estimated Duration: 2 years. We aim to place employees on new projects upon completion to ensure continuity of employment.
Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for directing, planning, and managing all construction activities at assigned sites to ensure projects are completed ahead of schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety policies.
Main Responsibilities
* Ensure a safe work environment by collaborating with safety departments and committees, and supporting safety policies and procedures.
* Monitor job progress by managing subcontractors, resolving issues, and maintaining proper documentation, quality, and safety controls.
* Control project costs through weekly evaluations of labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
* Oversee field productivity, quality, scheduling, and budget adherence, updating project schedules and budgets as needed.
* Coordinate with field and project management to address cost and schedule concerns.
* Participate actively in project start-up and close-out meetings.
* Maintain regular communication with Project Management to troubleshoot challenges and update project status.
* Enforce company policies with field personnel and subcontractors.
* Provide leadership by fostering cooperation, acting decisively, and promoting a positive work environment.
* Maintain discipline on the jobsite and prevent rework by identifying patterns and developing solutions.
* Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Construction Manager in photovoltaic plants of over 70 MW, working directly with construction companies.
* Extensive knowledge of construction tools, machinery, methods, and procedures.
* Strong relationship-building skills, detail-oriented, willing to travel, and knowledgeable of OSHA safety regulations.
* Preferred proficiency in Primavera P6 CPM, Procore, Blue Beam, MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
The role involves moderate physical activity, occasional outdoor exposure, and navigating construction sites.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly.
