The Director – IT Transformation Execution is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the execution of enterprise-wide transformation programs focused on organizational change, operating model evolution, and maturity development. Reporting directly to the Head of IT Portfolio & Transformation Management (IT Governance), this role acts as a strategic partner and execution leader, ensuring that transformation initiatives are delivered with excellence, aligned with enterprise goals, and embedded sustainably across the organization.
Operating in a complex, matrixed healthcare environment, the Director leads both internal and external teams, enables the organization in its new setup, and engages with the IT Leadership Team and peers across the enterprise. The role requires a self-driven, autonomous leader with a strong bias for action, a focus on delivering measurable results, and the ability to drive significant change while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Responsibilities Strategic Partnership & Executive Engagement – Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of IT Portfolio & Transformation Management, contribute to transformation strategy, operating model design, and organizational maturity planning; support executive-level engagement by preparing briefings, reports, and strategic narratives for the CIO and other C-level stakeholders; represent the transformation execution function in senior leadership forums and cross-functional strategy sessions.
Transformation Execution & Organizational Enablement – Lead the execution of large-scale transformation programs focused on organizational design, process optimization, and capability maturity; translate strategic goals into actionable execution plans with clear milestones, KPIs, and ownership structures; enable the organization to operate effectively in the new setup by embedding new roles, processes, and behaviors; ensure transformation efforts are embedded through structured change management and stakeholder engagement.
Financial Oversight & Value Realization – Oversee and manage program and project budgets, ensuring financial discipline and transparency; monitor and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) across transformation initiatives; track and report on benefits realization, ensuring alignment with business cases and strategic objectives; collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to ensure value delivery and ROI.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Program Management – Lead a team of direct disciplinary reports, provide coaching, performance management, and professional development; manage cross-functional IT teams within program structures, ensuring alignment, accountability, and delivery excellence; foster collaboration across IT domains and with external partners to drive integrated execution.
Matrixed Stakeholder & Vendor Leadership – Navigate a highly matrixed healthcare environment to align diverse internal stakeholders across IT, business and administrative domains; lead and coordinate external consulting partners, ensuring delivery quality, alignment with internal teams, and value realization; build strong, trust-based relationships with senior leaders, program sponsors, and delivery teams.
Governance, Risk & Performance Management – Establish and maintain transformation execution governance, including steering committees, reporting structures, and escalation paths; monitor program performance, manage risks and interdependencies, and ensure benefits realization; ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and healthcare regulatory standards.
Change Enablement & Culture Building – Collaborate with change management, communications, and HR teams to drive adoption of new ways of working; foster a culture of agility, accountability, and continuous improvement across transformation teams; champion a high-performance culture focused on excellence, ownership, and results.
Qualifications Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in IT transformation, organizational change, or enterprise program execution, preferably in healthcare or regulated industries.
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional transformation programs in matrixed environments.
Experience managing both direct reports and cross-functional teams in a programmatic structure.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, TCO, and benefits realization.
Deep understanding of IT operating models, governance, and organizational maturity frameworks.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with C-level executives.
Preferred Certifications PMP, PgMP, or equivalent
PROSCI or other change management certification
ITIL, COBIT, or TOGAF (a plus)
