Creative Strategist — Ecom Pod

Mission

Own the creative strategy for ecommerce clients by turning performance data into better ad concepts, clearer briefs, and faster creative testing.

This role exists to make sure our ecom pod always knows what to test next, what to scale, what to cut, and what creative the production team needs to make.

What You’ll Own

- Reviewing ad performance across Meta, Google, Motion/Atria, and reporting tools.

- Identifying winning hooks, angles, formats, offers, and product messages.

- Building weekly creative testing plans for ecommerce clients.

- Writing clear briefs for designers, editors, and creators.

- Coordinating with media buyers to understand performance, spend, scaling opportunities, and creative fatigue.

- Turning performance insights into new creative requests.

- Helping Account Managers explain creative strategy and results to clients.

Success Looks Like

- New creative tests are launched every week.

- Creative briefs are clear, specific, and easy for production to execute.

- Media buyers always have strong concepts to test.

- Winning and losing angles are documented.

- Clients understand what we are testing, why, and what we learned.

- Creative performance improves over time across CTR, CPC, CPA, ROAS, MER, or conversion rate.

You’re a Fit If

- You understand ecommerce and paid social.

- You can read ad performance data and turn it into creative direction.

- You know how to analyze hooks, angles, offers, UGC, product pages, and landing pages.

- You can write clear creative briefs.

- You move fast without needing constant reminders.

- You care about performance, not just aesthetics.

- You use AI/tools to move faster, research better, and create more testing volume.

You’re Not a Fit If

- You avoid numbers or dashboards.

- You think creative strategy is just coming up with cool ideas.

- You need someone to tell you every next step.

- You send vague briefs and expect production to figure it out.

- You blame platforms, clients, or designers before diagnosing the creative input.

- You get defensive when performance is reviewed.

Compensation

Compensation starts at $3,000/month, with performance bonuses available based on results, output quality, and ownership.

You will be asked these questions:

1. Describe a time you used ad data to decide what creative to make next.

2. What metrics do you check first when ecommerce performance drops?

3. How do you know when an ad has creative fatigue?

4. Share an example of a creative brief you wrote, or explain how you structure one.

5. Pick one ecommerce brand and give us three creative angles you would test.
