Team Overview
The Implementation team is a collaborative team situated in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur, operating under the Global Service Support team, which consists of three other local teams in London, New York, and Singapore.
Role Overview
The Implementation engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and configuring IP and IP TDM related Network Solutions for High Profile Clients, ensuring connectivity into the Distribution and Core layers of the IPC network model.
The Implementation engineer will also be required to forward fix any errors found during the testing phase on a network that consists of Layer 2, Layer 3 data solutions, as well as SIP and TDM Voice solutions.
Additionally, the Implementation engineer will document all projects from beginning to end and ensure all details are correctly transferred to management databases.
Work from office in early and late shift schedule arrangement within local time of 7am to 7pm.
Working on public holidays will be assigned on a rotational arrangement to ensure operations coverage during those periods.
Standby for call-out support after work hours scheduled on a rotational week including weekends and public holidays.
Data and Voice Implementation
Manage IP Service Deliveries including Connexus Layer 2 / 3 and Voice incorporating SIP and media gateway configurations.
Proficient in the Configuring, Implementation, and testing phases of all new Data, SIP, and Converged Access services.
Installation and Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) of Data and Voice Edge devices.
Ensure customer deliveries are resolved within service level timeframes, providing timely technical updates on IPC global management system.
Respond to customer 1st level escalations and engage support calls with network carriers and / or IPC customers to achieve meaningful resolution.
Implementation Management
Managing edge devices, including routers and switches of Cisco and Nokia, optical platforms, and SIP-based devices / platforms.
Conduct network capacity checks for new customer deployments.
Maintain up-to-date online documentation, network schematics, and its data elements in the database related to network implementation.
Change Management
Collaborate with other functional teams for changes to the implementation of Edge devices and perform Operational Readiness Testing (ORT).
Initiate change control relating to changes on edge network service modification, addressing network capacity and service delivery.
Perform change control on weekends covering the implementation of new services on production devices / services.
Perform emergency changes on demand with authorized IPC internal approval.
Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role :
University degree or equivalent experience in Network Service Delivery with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Technology environment.
Experience in the Telecommunication field with extensive knowledge in a wide portfolio of technology and products across IP, SIP Voice, and DWDM platforms.
Good working knowledge of Cisco (Minimum CCNA), Nokia (NRS), and DWDM optical-based equipment.
Proven competency in supporting L2 and L3 routing and switching and MPLS technology.
Experience with SIP technology is required.
Knowledge of Financial Markets Data such as service feeds will be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and ability to be a key player working together with a highly motivated team to support the business.
Resourceful and good initiative in resolving complex issues relating to role support.
Absolute proactive approach to incident management and service resolution.
Excellent organizational skills and able to work independently.
