Overview
Join a global, purpose-led business and be part of the Unilever Legal Powerhouse. You will contribute to the Legal function by supporting the Supply Chain, Business Services, Digital & Technology Legal Team in Barcelona and collaborating with teams across the organization.
What you will do
* Lead the Spanish Supply Chain, Business Services, Digital & Technology Legal Cell within the Barcelona Powerhouse (currently 4 team members).
* Lead the digital contracting journey by implementing and optimising digital contracting tools and ensuring integration with existing legal and operational systems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline contract workflows, reduce turnaround times, and enhance user experience across the contract lifecycle.
* Monitor performance metrics and user adoption; use data insights to improve processes and identify automation opportunities.
* Champion change management and training initiatives for stakeholders to embrace digital contracting solutions.
* Contract review and negotiation: support the review, negotiation, and drafting of terms with 3rd party suppliers, aligning with Unilever’s standard templates or negotiating terms that suit Unilever’s interests.
* Ensure adequate terms, conditions, and schedules in supplier contracts to manage contract risk for 3rd party suppliers.
* Support fact-gathering and timeline creation for commercial contract disputes and claims; assist in identifying relevant contract terms for analysis by subject matter experts.
* Support the Supply Chain, Business Services, Digital & Technology team’s projects.
Person specification
* Senior qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years PQE, preferably with international clients.
* Experience delivering legal services in-house or outsourced.
* Savvy in Legal AI tools and digital contracting.
* Commitment to consistency and process; strong customer focus.
* Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
* Team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset, especially in digital/AI activation spaces.
* Outcome-based attitude; ability to recruit, develop and motivate a team is desirable.
* High emotional intelligence; ability to manage escalations effectively; sensitivity to working with different cultures.
* Innovative mindset with a focus on driving efficiency; adaptable to change; capable of pivoting with changing requirements.
* Business acumen and strategic understanding; strong persuasion skills to motivate adoption of new ways of working.
* Willingness to work a flexible day to accommodate early-start and evening calls with global teams and partners.
