The Support Operations ensures the successful execution of logistics operations during the launch of new customers or activities. Acting as an on-the-ground operational leader, they coordinate resources, enforce process compliance, and drive continuous improvement. They serve as the operational point of reference during critical ramp-up phases, ensuring performance, quality, and alignment with standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Launch Management
- Organize and oversee logistics operations during new customer or activity implementations.
- Define and allocate necessary resources (staff, equipment, storage areas).
- Ensure teams are properly sized, trained, and prepared.
- Coordinate actions across operations, IT, quality, and project teams.
- Supervise field operations and ensure adherence to defined processes.
Process Compliance & Performance Monitoring
- Enforce strict application of logistics procedures (inbound, picking, shipping, returns).
- Monitor compliance with internal and customer standards.
- Detect deviations and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
Auditing & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct regular audits of field operations and practices.
- Analyze root causes of inefficiencies or delays.
- Propose and implement action plans to improve quality, productivity, and safety.
- Capture lessons learned for future implementations.
Team Supervision & Engagement
- Lead a team of 3 (coordinators, supervisors, or technicians).
- Organize schedules, assign tasks, and set objectives.
- Support team development and foster motivation.
- Facilitate team meetings and ensure effective communication and reporting.
Training & Documentation
- Train teams on new processes and best practices.
- Ensure clear understanding and application of instructions.
- Act as the liaison between field operations and support functions (Quality, IT, HR).
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in operational logistics roles, ideally in 3PL or multi-client environments.
- Proven experience in supervising field teams and managing operational ramp-ups.
- Strong organizational skills and adherence to procedures.
- Proficiency in logistics systems and IT tools.
