Job Description
The Cost Controller is a crucial role within the hotel's operational framework, ensuring effective management and optimization of operating costs. A key focus area is Food & Beverage (F&B), where accurate purchasing and inventory records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Record product deliveries and F&B invoices in the accounting system.
* Implement and improve cost control procedures to minimize wastage and optimize resource allocation.
* Ensure compliance with purchasing and inventory documentation and authorization processes to prevent any discrepancies.
* Process F&B accruals accurately in the system to maintain up-to-date financial records.
* Monitor inventory levels and accuracy according to operational needs to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Maintain and update the purchasing system with correct prices and supplier information to facilitate smooth transactions.
* Reconcile inventory reports, resolve discrepancies, and verify physical counts and costs to identify areas for improvement.
* Participate in month-end reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of inventory and costs to inform business decisions.
* Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and annual cost reports to stakeholders, highlighting trends and recommendations for cost optimization.
* Analyze cost over sales ratios to identify opportunities for cost optimization and profitability improvement, contributing to the hotel's financial targets.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will require:
* A university degree in hospitality, business administration, or a related field.
* A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar hospitality role, with a proven track record of cost control and financial management.
* Fluency in Spanish, with English being an added advantage.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex financial issues and make informed decisions.
* A high level of confidentiality and integrity, with a commitment to protecting company assets.
