Descripción: We are looking for a Satellite Operations Engineering Team Leader to lead the operations of Hispasat’s GEO satellite fleet. This role combines technical expertise in flight dynamics and platform/payload operations with team leadership, strategic coordination, and operational responsibility for fleet performance. You will guide a team of engineers in the planning, execution, and optimization of in-orbit operations, and act as the key liaison between operations, engineering, ground segment, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Satellite Operations Engineering team, maintaining high performance, effective collaboration, and continuous development of team members.
* Promote and reinforce a culture of safety, reliability, and operational excellence, ensuring operational procedures are followed and improved.
* Oversee day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the GEO satellite fleet for smooth mission execution.
* Supervise and validate flight dynamics activities, including orbit determination, station-keeping, and collision risk assessments.
* Coordinate operational interfaces with internal teams and external stakeholders, including satellite manufacturers.
* Support monitoring and analysis of platform and payload subsystems for anomaly detection and operational continuity.
* Drive development and enhancement of operational tools, automation, and databases.
* Manage anomaly lifecycle, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Provide technical leadership, oversee training programs, and skills development.
* Consolidate and present fleet-level reports on satellite health, anomalies, and KPIs.
* Lead knowledge transfer, documentation, and standardization efforts.
* Coordinate response to critical operational events and support new satellite missions.
* Support continuous evolution of satellite operations aligned with company objectives.
Requisitos:
* Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
* At least 8 years in satellite operations, including 3+ years in a coordination role.
* Strong background in orbital mechanics, GEO subsystem operations, payload management, anomaly resolution, and programming skills.
* High responsibility, service continuity commitment, and proficiency in English and Spanish.
* Availability for 24/7 on-call and travel as needed.
* Work location: Satellite Control Centre, Arganda del Rey / Madrid.
