Summary
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving the successful launch and sustained growth of Rezdiffra in their assigned region. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the RSM will lead, coach, and develop a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) to maximize product uptake, build long-term relationships with healthcare stakeholders, and execute local sales strategies in alignment with national priorities.
In this role, the RSM will demonstrate patient focus in every decision, act with an owner mindset, champion innovation, and foster collaboration to deliver impact and contribute to Madrigal's purpose of leading the fight against MASH.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate national and global commercial strategies into clear, actionable regional sales plans.
* Deliver sales targets through effective territory planning, resource allocation, and execution excellence.
* Recruit, train, and mentor Key Account Managers to build a high-performing team.
* Conduct regular field visits, joint calls, and performance reviews to strengthen capabilities and customer engagement.
* Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and compliance.
* Build strong partnerships with physicians, KOLs, treatment centers, and other stakeholders to drive product adoption.
* Represent Madrigal at national congresses, symposia, and educational events.
* Ensure field teams deliver consistent, high-quality, and compliant customer interactions.
* Work closely with Market Access to align regional field activities with access priorities.
* Partner with Medical Affairs to ensure coordinated and compliant scientific engagement.
* Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to inform strategy and adapt tactics.
* Monitor sales performance, activity metrics, and KPIs, adjusting plans as needed to exceed objectives.
* Ensure optimal use of CRM and reporting tools for territory management and customer insights.
* Manage regional budgets responsibly and in line with company objectives.
* Act as a key member of the commercial leadership community, sharing best practices and supporting national initiatives.
* Uphold Madrigal's Code of Conduct and Ethics, as well as all local pharmaceutical regulations.
Profile
* Significant experience in pharmaceutical sales leadership, ideally in specialty care or hospital-based therapeutic areas.
* Proven track record of managing first-line sales teams and driving successful product launches.
* Strong understanding of the local healthcare environment, treatment pathways, and payer landscape.
* Inspirational people leader with excellent coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
* Strategic thinker who can translate vision into action while remaining detail-oriented on execution.
* Commercially savvy, entrepreneurial, and results-driven with a strong sense of ownership.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix environment.
Qualifications
* University degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
* Minimum 7 years' experience in pharmaceutical sales, including at least 2–3 years in a sales management role.
* Strong knowledge of CRM systems, Key Account Planning, and business intelligence tools. xohynlm
