The successful candidate will develop theoretical models, perform simulations, and provide analytical insight that informs the design and optimisation of cutting-edge quantum and optical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and refine theoretical models for laser cooling and control of metastable atomic beams.Tackle fundamental physics challenges associated with generating high-flux, cold neutral atom beams.Build and implement numerical simulations to validate theoretical approaches, incorporating practical engineering constraints.Develop robust simulation tools to support cross-functional teams.Partner with theory, simulation, and experimental groups on interdisciplinary projects.Create, maintain, and review high-quality code and technical documentation.Required QualificationsPhD in AMO Physics, Quantum Optics, or a related field.Strong background in laser cooling and manipulation of atoms.
