The company has an established legal department that is entering a new phase of development, aligned with a broader stage of corporate growth, diversification of activities and increasing complexity in regulatory, contractual and technological matters.

In this context, the Legal Manager will assume a key role in supporting and shaping the evolution of the legal function, combining strong technical expertise with the ability to redesign processes, redefine priorities and align legal support with the current and future needs of the business.

The Role will be in-house, in our dependencies in Mijas Costa (Costa del Sol) in Málaga.

Role Summary

The Legal Manager will be responsible for leading the reorganisation and development of the existing Legal Department, ensuring that legal services are delivered in a strategic, efficient and business‑oriented manner.

The role is conceived as a senior in-house position with a high degree of autonomy, in which the scope, structure and level of involvement may evolve depending on the proposed project and the candidate’s profile.

The Legal Manager will provide comprehensive legal advice to a group operating mainly in the hospitality, tourism, construction and real estate sectors, while acting as a key internal advisor on legal risk, compliance and emerging challenges related to technology, data protection and artificial intelligence.

A very high level of proficiency in Spanish and English is essential, as is the ability to operate comfortably in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day legal advice to business units in the hospitality, tourism, construction and real estate areas.
* Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial agreements, service contracts, construction and works contracts, leases, and real estate documentation.
* Manage and coordinate external legal counsel (law firms, notaries, consultants), ensuring quality, efficiency and cost control.
* Oversee and coordinate litigation and pre-litigation matters, in collaboration with external counsel, including risk assessment and strategy definition. 1
* Advise on regulatory and compliance matters applicable to hospitality and construction activities, including consumer law, tourism regulations and sector-specific requirements.
* Support the business in construction and real estate projects, including legal risk analysis, contractor relationships, and dispute prevention.
* Provide guidance on data protection, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital transformation projects, identifying legal risks and proposing compliant, pragmatic solutions.
* Promote a preventive legal culture by anticipating risks, standardising documentation and contributing to internal policies and procedures.
* Collaborate closely with finance, operations, sales and management teams to ensure legal advice aligns with business objectives.

KSAs

Knowledge

- Education and Professional Qualification: Law degree. Qualification as a Spanish lawyer (abogado) is required.

- Professional Experience: Solid experience as an in-house lawyer or at a reputable law firm, preferably advising companies in hospitality, tourism, construction or real estate sectors.

- Languages: Very high level of Spanish and English (C1/C2), with the ability to draft legal documents, negotiate and provide complex legal advice in both languages. Additional languages are a plus.

- Technical Legal Knowledge: Strong background in commercial law, contract law, construction and real estate matters, and dispute management. Good understanding of regulatory compliance in hospitality and related industries. Up-to-date knowledge of data protection, AI regulation, cybersecurity and technology-related legal risks.

- Legal and Business Judgement: Ability to analyse legal issues from a practical and commercial perspective, prioritising risks and proposing clear, actionable solutions.

- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, operational teams and external advisors in multicultural environments.

- Digital and Legal Tech Skills: Advanced use of Microsoft 365 and legal productivity tools, with a strong interest in legal innovation, digitalisation and the practical application of technology to the legal function.

- Organisation and Autonomy: High level of organisation, attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple matters simultaneously with minimal supervision.

- External Counsel Management: Ability to coordinate, supervise and evaluate external legal advisors, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
