Task Description
In line with our strategy of introducing new services and evolving existing solutions, BICS is seeking a Telecom & DevOps Engineer to help design, develop, deploy, and support advanced telecommunications solutions for 4G/5G networks, with a focus on roaming, messaging, and Internet of Things (IoT) services.In this role, you will contribute across the full solution life cycle – design, build, test, deployment, support and maintenance. Working in an agile environment, you will ensure high‑quality technical delivery and support successful execution of business projects and evolutive initiatives (time, budget, scope).Please note that this role requires working from the Madrid office 2 to 3 days per week; it is not a fully remote position.Test and validate new developments.Deploy releases to production and validation environments.Automate workflows (testing, installation, monitoring, etc.).Respond to incidents and participate in an L3 24×7 on‑call rotation.Debug software and service issues.Perform proactive and reactive maintenance activities.Monitor service availability and performance.Analyse needs and propose optimal, innovative solutions.Your ProfileBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.Knowledge of telecommunications protocols (e.g., SS7, LTE, 5G).Hands‑on experience with Linux OS environments.Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and (ideally) clustering concepts.Understanding of computer networks and protocols.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with good interpersonal skills.Fluent in English (written and spoken).Nice to HaveFamiliarity with DevOps concepts and tools (CI/CD, GitLab, Ansible, containers, etc.).Experience with programming (e.g., Java, Python) and scripting.Knowledge of networking and communication protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, etc.).BenefitsCompetitive base salary and short‑term incentives (year‑ly bonus linked to individual and company performance)
