Overview
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our expanding Accounting team based in our Barcelona hub. This role will support day-to-day operations of the Accounting function while contributing to continuous improvement across all departmental processes.
What You’ll Do
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
* Record general ledger entries in compliance with local and group accounting policies
* Assist with the month-end close and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
* Reconcile intercompany transactions
* Maintain the fixed assets register, including asset postings and monthly depreciation
* Collaborate with the Accounts Payable, Procurement and T&E teams on reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
* Assist in the preparation and review of VAT returns
* Provide support during external and internal audits
* Partner with cross-functional teams to support business units with financial and accounting insights
* Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives and help with ad-hoc projects
What We’re Looking For
* 3 years of experience in general accounting
* Prior experience in international environments, preferably across multiple entities
* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
* Experience working with ERP systems; Oracle ERP experience
* Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
* A team-oriented mindset with a focus on shared goals
Nice to Have
* Background in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment
* Knowledge of Spanish and/or European tax regulations
* Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI)
* Experience working in a shared service center or centralized accounting function
