Main Job Objectives:
- To produce PLC software and/or visualization systems. - To emulate and test PLC software. - To interpret electrical schematics and design input information. - To lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation. - To lead controls engineering design teams. - Provide technical guidance. - Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive - To produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications. - To commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user - To assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard.

Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechatronics/Controls Engineering as a minimum. - Experience in a similar role. - Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment. - Advanced understanding of PLC development tools. - Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings. - Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards. - Good understanding of distributed control systems. - Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation. - Previous use of CAD tools. - Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential.
Special Conditions:
- Role will require 60% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region and occasional travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties. - Possibility to be home base.
