Position Summary: The Account Manager (AM) is a key commercial role within the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is an account-focused role with primary responsibility for selling and supporting all LPD products. The AM is the primary contact and provides sales expertise, driving all LPD commercial activities within the account. You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of laboratory products to identify customer requirements and match our innovative laboratory equipment and consumables to their needs, helping us win new business, expand market share, and drive long-term sales. Building and maintaining relationships with key partners—including customers, distributors, channel managers, product specialists, and senior sales leadership—is essential. This is a field-based role covering eastern Spain, involving extensive weekly travel. Major end markets include academic, environmental, industrial, food safety, and healthcare.
What you will do: Drive sales and revenue for our Laboratory Products business to meet the business plan. Forecast, report, and monitor sales performance. Visit new and existing customers to promote products and services. Identify decision-makers and influencers, establishing relationships as appropriate. Maintain extensive knowledge of the competitive landscape. Conduct prospecting calls to build the sales pipeline and generate leads. Lead and cultivate account relationships to drive expansion and renewals across the full LPD portfolio, providing product assistance, consultation, and problem-solving. Ensure accurate focus on Key, Focus, and Corporate Accounts within your territory. Use the company CRM to log opportunities and campaigns and develop Key Account plans. Stay up-to-date with the product range and represent the company at sales meetings and industry exhibitions.
Who we are looking for: Resident within the territory or willing to relocate at own expense. Valid driving license. Life Science Degree or equivalent experience. Good knowledge of laboratory products (equipment & consumables). Sales experience in the laboratory market. Proven experience managing complex, high-value accounts in a matrix environment. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM. A team player capable of coordinating activities and influencing across a channel team. An influencer with strong negotiation and account leadership skills. Commercial mindset, good presentation skills, and confidence in customer-facing roles. Fluent in Spanish and English. Willing to travel extensively, up to 60-80%, including frequent overnight stays.
