Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
We are seeking a business- and solutions-oriented Legal Counsel to support our Business Area Motion in general, and the Renewable Power Business Line in particular. You will focus on supporting the Motion business operating out of Spain, delivering products, services, and projects both locally and globally. You will report to the Division General Counsel, Motion High Power.
Providing Legal & Integrity (L&I) advisory support to business stakeholders, including ABB Management, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and ethical standards.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders and managing associated legal and contractual risks.
Monitoring and supporting legal affairs – including integrity, intellectual property, and litigation matters – in coordination with Division General Counsel and relevant stakeholders.
Supporting strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as required.
Identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities, acting as a trusted business partner while maintaining independence and proposing appropriate strategies and actions.
Ensuring compliance and supporting implementation of integrity standards, including implementation of the Code of Conduct and global/local policies.
Providing training and guidance on L&I topics, while supporting business strategy development and addressing emerging challenges.
Fostering collaboration and stakeholder relationships, including supporting Country Corporate Counsel and contributing to effective cross-functional and multicultural teamwork under pressure.
Seeking knowledge and learning about ABB's present and future portfolio within the relevant business to understand and manage relevant business and legal risks and opportunities.
Qualifications For The Role
Spanish law degree (Grado en Derecho) and qualification as "Abogado".
Minimum 5 years of legal experience in a recognized law firm or multinational company.
Understanding of complex cross-border contractual setups for system deliveries.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Willingness to travel.
