As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager within the Amazon Fulfilment Centre (FC), your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You will help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site.
The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and drive improvements in inbound safety, quality, and productivity, working with the Operations Management teams to continuously enhance the functionality and service level of the Fulfilment Centre.
Customer Fulfilment, or CF, is the foundation of Amazon’s operations, handling over 1.5 million orders daily and continuously evolving with emerging technology to deliver a broader range of products quickly and affordably.
Key job responsibilities
1. Manage the health and safety function at the FC, including supervising staff to ensure objectives are met.
2. Engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operational sites.
3. Provide authoritative advice on health & safety matters to stakeholders within your responsibility.
4. Review and improve health & safety management arrangements.
5. Develop strategies to reduce risks and recommend adaptations to plant, machinery, and processes.
6. Ensure robust reporting regimes for health & safety statistics are in place.
7. Provide management information and statistics related to your area.
8. Support business change through effective change management processes.
9. Drive behavioural culture change across a large, multi-shift operation.
10. Implement and review global safety policies, ensuring local legislative compliance.

Minimum qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as per the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
* Degree and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, following Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
* Relevant experience managing a team and complying with local health and safety legislation.
* Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.
* Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
* Qualifications or experience in sustainability.
* Experience communicating with stakeholders and leadership.
* Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH).
