The Motion division of Exide develops high-quality traction batteries and chargers for electric vehicles, including lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries that power material handling equipment and robotics. We serve OEMs, projects, and the aftermarket with our brands and those of our clients.
The role of the Process Engineer is to coordinate and advise on manufacturing processes, analyze specifications and requirements to improve quality and reduce costs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define work procedures for all manufacturing processes in the plant.
2. Study and develop prototypes and tests.
3. Propose manufacturing improvements, reduce process times, and provide technical advice to departments.
4. Coordinate assigned projects.
5. Provide technical support to the factory.
6. Analyze specifications and requirements for quality improvement and cost reduction, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
7. Assist technically in product transformation.
8. Inform staff about risks and ensure proper training on safety and handling, especially regarding PLMA behavior.
9. Collaborate with the plant energy manager on identifying, implementing, and monitoring energy-related actions.
10. Maintain technical files, catalogs, and documentation.
11. Document precise calculations for process design.
12. Collect product data from the factory.
13. Develop work procedures for plant and manufacturing processes.
14. Verify and monitor prototypes and pre-series production.
15. Define and document final product specifications.
16. Participate in technical meetings to address manufacturing questions.
17. Plan tests and analyze results.
18. Define corrective actions for manufacturing processes.
19. Assess project feasibility.
20. Collaborate with other departments on new installations.
21. Conduct safety, order, and cleanliness inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
* University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
* Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
* At least 2 years of experience in industrial environments.
* Valuable: training as green/black belt.
