Product Owner – EU E-Invoicing Solutions
Job Description:
In Way2Vat and its subsidiary DivaSpain (Fintech company), we are seeking a strategic and experienced Product Owner to lead the creation and delivery of our EU-focused e-invoicing and VAT recovery platform. Based in Barcelona, you will be responsible for understanding the intricacies of the EU regulatory environment, analyzing market trends, benchmarking against competitors, and defining product features that meet customer needs and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Market Research & Competitive Benchmarking:
- Analyze the current landscape of e-invoicing and VAT recovery solutions in the EU.
- Gather insights from customers, industry reports, and regulatory updates to identify market gaps.
- Benchmark competitors’ offerings, features, pricing strategies, and compliance frameworks to position your product competitively.
- Define Product Vision & Strategy:
- Develop a clear vision aligned with regional requirements and company goals.
- Create a strategic roadmap prioritizing features that ensure regulatory compliance, usability, and scalability across EU countries.
- Adjust the product vision based on evolving EU regulations, technological advancements, and market feedback.
- Develop Product Requirements & Specifications:
- Translate market insights into detailed user stories, technical specifications, and functional requirements.
- Ensure requirements address key aspects such as invoice validation rules, electronic reporting standards, secure data transfer, and VAT recovery workflows.
- Work closely with engineering teamso to ensure specifications are clear, achievable, and testable.
Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure the product meets all EU legal mandates, including GDPR, VAT legislation, and invoicing standards.
- Liaise with sales and customer support to gather feedback and refine features.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely development, testing, and deployment.
Regulatory and Market Monitoring:
- Stay updated on EU legislative changes affecting invoicing, VAT reporting, and tax recovery.
- Implement adaptations to the product to maintain compliance and leverage new opportunities.
- Communicate regulatory impacts to internal teams and adjust the product roadmap accordingly.
Prioritize & Manage Product Backlog:
- Use data-driven decision making to prioritize features that deliver maximum value.
- Balance technical feasibility, customer needs, and compliance requirements in backlog grooming.
- Ensure timely delivery of features aligned with strategic goals and market demands.
Post-Launch Monitoring & Optimization:
- Define success metrics such as user adoption, compliance accuracy, VAT recovery rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor product performance and gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
- Adjust product features and support strategies based on real-world usage patterns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience managing fintech or compliance products in the EU, with in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Strong understanding of the EU’s e-invoicing framework and VAT directives.
- Experience with API integration, SaaS platforms, and document digitalization.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory texts, market data, and customer insights.
