Overview
The BD Associate qualifies new opportunities for inside, field, territory, and channel sales teams. You qualify marketing‑generated demand, conduct cold‑calling outreach to the buying group, and use multiple tactics (email, voicemail, direct mail, social media, chat) to foster meaningful interactions. In small teams you may also identify and develop additional demand via outbound prospecting or cold calling.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Process inbound demand responses from marketing‑activated or nurtured buying groups and qualify opportunities for the sales organization.
* Use established criteria to qualify demand before passing it to inside reps, field territory reps, or channel partners.
* Discover, validate, and reach out to additional personas involved in the buying decision to identify possible buying groups for field sales.
* Nurture predetermined groups of prospects for field or channel sales using multiple touch tactics (telephone, email, social) to foster meaningful interactions and determine level of interest.
* Provide product information to prospects.
* Comply with all demand‑management service‑level agreements.
* Provide weekly forecasts to marketing and sales on qualified demand volume.
* Pursue meaningful conversations with individuals representing buyer personas targeted by the organization.
* Track and manage qualification and nurture activities in the company’s sales force automation system.
* Perform data enrichment via account research to support marketing and nurture campaigns.
Qualifications
* One (1) plus year of prospecting and experience interfacing with customers.
* Experience in an industry with a significant volume of customer/prospect interaction.
* B2B experience selling a similar offering into a similar market.
* Familiarity with MAPs and SFA systems.
* Ability to articulate a reasonable value proposition on every call.
* Ability to perform prospect and account research to prepare for calls.
* Telephone selling techniques.
* Social media usage and social selling techniques.
* SFA systems best practices.

* Confidence despite a potential lack of knowledge or seniority compared to the prospect.

Physical Demands & Travel
Sedentary, desk‑based work performed either remotely or in an office. Travel < 10%. Hybrid office and remote.
