About This Role
We are looking for a commercially minded Business Development Trainee with a background in Aviation, Aerospace, or Drone Technologies who wants real exposure to international business development, strategic sales, and project execution.
As part of this role, you will be directly involved in pipeline development, client communication, and opportunity qualification within high‑growth sectors including aviation, unmanned systems, and emerging technologies.
You will gain hands‑on experience in structured sales processes, opportunity assessment, and international market development.
Your will be supporting your manager and team in these key tasks:
* Pipeline Tracking & Opportunity Monitoring
o Maintain and update the sales pipeline (CRM and internal tracking tools)
o Monitor inbound and outbound opportunities across aviation and drone markets
o Track lead progression from first contact through to proposal stage
o Prepare weekly pipeline summaries and performance reports
o Identify stalled opportunities and propose follow‑up actions
* Sales Support & Client Engagement
o Participate in business development calls and client meetings
o Support preparation of pitch decks and proposals
o Draft follow‑up communications and meeting summaries
o Assist in structuring commercial offers and pricing models
* Market & Technical Research
o Research aviation and drone industry trends, regulations, and competitors
o Identify new target markets and strategic partnership opportunities
o Analyse tenders, RFPs, and funding opportunities relevant to aerospace and UAS
o Support strategic positioning in emerging aviation segments (e.g. UAM, ISR, defence applications, commercial UAV deployment)
* Process & Commercial Optimisation
o Support the improvement of sales workflows and documentation
o Contribute to the development of internal business development playbooks
o Help build structured qualification frameworks for aviation/drone clients
o Assist in KPI tracking and performance analysis
Requirements
* Currently enrolled at university, studying:
o Aviation / Aerospace Engineering
o Drone Technologies / UAS
o Aeronautical Engineering
* Strong interest in business development, sales, and commercial strategy
* Comfortable speaking with clients and stakeholders
* Structured thinker with analytical skills
* Fluent in English (Fluency in Spanish and German are a plus)
* Confident, proactive, and able to take ownership
* Available around 25 hours a week to work from office (5 hours a day, to be discussed based on candidates availability)
