Job Description
Industrial Means Engineer responsible for managing tooling, MGSE, machines and autonomous systems across full programs, delivering in time, cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage industrial means packages (tooling, MGSE, machines) for entire programs.
* Design, coordinate and execute tooling and MGSE for manufacturing, machining, assembly, testing, ground operations and transport of launcher and satellite products.
* Attend client and supplier meetings; occasional travel required.
* Coordinate with stakeholders (Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Health & Safety, Engineering, Quality, Logistics).
* Ensure proper ramp‑up profile, takt adherence and operation sequencing.
* Plan and ensure maintenance activities before service entry.
* Support maintenance and production teams to guarantee reliability and safety.
* Support program activities: planning, proposals, CapEx, budgets.
Core Tasks
* Call for tenders, manage technical and financial evaluation.
* Create technical specifications and evaluate supplier proposals.
* Manage acquisition milestones (KOM, PDR, CDR, CISS, CIPS, FA) with analysis, FMAs, verifications and tests.
* Use CAD for concepts and GD&T analysis.
* Ensure supplier compliance with OT, OQ, OC delivery.
* Analyze H&S and ergonomic aspects of solutions.
* Lead trouble‑shooting, failure analysis and brainstorming sessions.
* Provide workshops and commissioning support for new stations.
Required Skills & Experience
* Engineering degree or equivalent.
* 5‑10 years in manufacturing, tooling and engineering.
* Design for manufacturing, tooling supplier experience, knowledge of tooling processes.
* GD&T, stress analysis (thermal preferred).
* Automation and metrology (basic CMM, laser tracker).
* Health & Safety, ergonomics, CE directives.
* Project management, bilingual English & Spanish at negotiation level.
* CATIA proficiency, experience in mass‑efficient structures and large assembly models.
* Dynamic, proactive, adaptable under pressure.
Additional Requirements
* Travel nationally up to 20% and internationally to customers/suppliers.
