Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Coordinate and supervise internal and external technicians with maintenance activities onsite.
- Support the planner in the preparation of maintenance activities.
- Provide proactive support for difficult activities and problems.
- Follow up maintenance activities and adjust as necessary.
- Coordinate third‑party services according to Sibelco technical and safety standards.
- Create correct maintenance work orders according to Sibelco rules and standards.
- Follow up and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Gate‑keep maintenance notifications and manage them with the correct priority.
- Review maintenance jobs and close the work orders with correct aftercare.
- Continuously communicate with production operators, supervisors and engineers to ensure maintenance activities are performed according to planning.
- Coordinate and support emergency regime.
Operational Excellence
- Actively participate in daily performance dialogues and problem‑solving events.
- Coordinate technicians and execute maintenance activities at the site according to Sibelco’s operational excellence and safety principles.
- Maintain, improve and optimise technical installations to prevent failures and breakdowns and to optimise availability and capacity.
- Repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic malfunctions and implement solutions.
- Execute the maintenance plan by Sibelco systems and standards.
- Register and control information in the system to analyse and meet predefined KPI’s.
- Promote performance dialogue in the team using appropriate KPI’s.
- Ensure contractors meet SLA’s and KPI’s and manage co‑employment issues.
- Execute and support RCA to analyse and minimise machine downtime.
- Organise and follow up maintenance activities and procedures to apply the 5S concept on site.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive and execute maintenance process improvements through robust performance review and feedback loop with planner, scheduler and reliability engineer.
- Identify and repair or replace problem equipment in collaboration with production and reliability engineer.
- Participate and promote use of problem‑solving techniques to eliminate breakdowns.
Safety
- Ensure necessary actions, including administration, are taken to allow installations to be used and maintained safely according to Sibelco safety rules and standards.
- Execute LMRA ensuring the maintenance team operates safely and healthily.
- Perform process confirmations on use of safety procedures and measurements such as LOTO, LMRA, SOP’s.
- Organise or support safety improvements in collaboration with other departments or safety teams.
People Management
- Motivate and evaluate team members to enhance collaboration and support individual development and growth.
- Ensure appropriate skill and capability mix of technicians across the maintenance function.
- Assess maintenance staff competency level in comparison with site requirements.
- Coach and develop maintenance personnel, holding them accountable for delivery of results and supporting mutually agreed development needs.
Qualifications
- Technical degree in mechanics, electrics, or equivalent by experience.
- Proficient in English (verbal & writing).
- Proficient in the local language of the country of base and main operations (verbal & writing).
