Senior Director, Marketing – New Game Launch ES - Barcelona, Spain
Scopely is looking for a
Senior Director, Marketing
to lead marketing across the Scrabble franchise, including Scrabble Go and an exciting new unannounced mobile title, based in Barcelona on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in office).
This is a rare opportunity for a marketing leader who wants to shape both the future of an iconic live game and the launch of something entirely new. You will define the go-to-market strategy for a new title from the ground up, while also driving the long-term growth strategy for one of mobile gaming’s most recognizable franchises.
We’re looking for a strategic, highly analytical, and creatively ambitious leader who can operate as the Head of Marketing for the franchise—bringing together product marketing, community, creator, lifecycle, creative, and performance marketing into one clear plan for growth. You’ll partner closely with game teams, central marketing functions, and executive stakeholders to build campaigns, shape positioning, guide launch strategy, and create meaningful player demand before, during, and after launch.
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play every day—whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers developing, publishing, and innovating in the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
What You Will Do
Own the marketing vision and strategy for the Scrabble franchise, spanning both Scrabble Go and a new unannounced mobile title
Lead the global go-to-market strategy for a new game launch, from audience definition and market opportunity to positioning, campaign planning, launch readiness, and post-launch momentum
Define compelling product positioning, messaging, and value propositions that translate gameplay features into clear, differentiated player-facing stories
Develop integrated marketing strategies across the full player funnel, driving acquisition, activation, retention, advocacy, and long‑term franchise growth
Shape creative strategy in partnership with internal and external creative teams, and guide the development of high‑performing marketing across UA, social, influencer, community, CRM, and lifecycle channels
Build and execute 360 marketing campaigns informed by player insights, market research, testing, competitive analysis, and performance data
Partner closely with Product, Performance Marketing, Creative, Analytics, CRM, and Licensors to align strategy and execution
Act as the key marketing partner to game leadership, influencing how each title is brought to market and ensuring the strongest player benefits and differentiators are reflected in both the product and its marketing
Champion the voice of the player by bringing customer needs, behaviors, pain points, and feedback into product strategy, roadmap conversations, and feature prioritization
Develop launch narratives, campaign frameworks, and executive‑ready communication materials that align stakeholders and drive decision‑making
Build and nurture community and creator programs that generate excitement ahead of launch, deepen player engagement, and strengthen long‑term franchise affinity
Manage relationships with licensors and external partners, ensuring alignment across brand, product, and launch priorities
As the franchise grows, build and lead a high‑performing marketing team with the ability to execute, learn, and adapt as the business evolves
What We’re Looking For
Significant experience in product marketing, game marketing, growth marketing, or related functions, with meaningful time spent leading strategy for live and/or launching games
Proven experience bringing games or digital products to market successfully, ideally including ownership of major launch or GTM initiatives
A strong track record of developing differentiated positioning, messaging, and go‑to‑market strategies that deliver business impact
Experience working across acquisition, activation, retention, community, creator, and lifecycle marketing to drive growth across the full player journey
Deep fluency in game and marketing KPIs, with the ability to translate data, research, and competitive insight into clear strategic action
Strong creative instincts and experience shaping campaigns, narratives, and player‑facing marketing that break through in a crowded market
Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels: setting vision, solving problems, and driving execution through cross‑functional teams
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align teams and influence senior leaders
Experience partnering with external agencies, licensors, creators, or other third‑party partners
A collaborative leadership style and a reputation for building trust, energy, and alignment across teams
A genuine passion for games and a strong instinct for what makes players engage, stay, and advocate
Bonus Points
Experience in mobile gaming, especially in casual games
Strong understanding of the mobile user acquisition and performance marketing landscape
Experience adapting global marketing strategies and campaigns across different markets and audiences
Experience helping build or scale marketing teams in high‑growth environments
