We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of requirements. You will collaborate closely with developers throughout the software development lifecycle, document complex data models and flows and support user acceptance testing for trading and portfolio systems.
This role is based in Málaga, offering a hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week) and the chance to be part of a growing local tech community.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure clear and timely communication of requirements
* Collaborate with developers throughout the SDLC, providing clarification, validating deliverables and supporting testing activities
* Document data models, data flows and system interactions for trading and portfolio management systems
* Plan and execute user acceptance testing, including scenario preparation, user support and feedback management
* Analyze and resolve ambiguous requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives
* Assist in incident resolution during market hours and communicate effectively with stakeholders
* Maintain system integrity and performance through proactive collaboration with cross‑functional teams
* Support continuous improvement of processes and documentation for trading technology
* Contribute to a culture of quality, teamwork and problem‑solving
Requirements
* Experience with backend systems in a corporate or enterprise environment
* Strong business analysis fundamentals, including supporting development teams during the SDLC, documenting data models and flows, UAT planning and execution and handling unclear or ambiguous requirements
* Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and validate basic queries (SELECT, JOIN)
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with U.S.-based stakeholders remotely
* Understanding of asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX and commodities
* General understanding of system architecture, networking and cloud concepts such as Kubernetes
* Familiarity with the trade lifecycle and trade attributes
Nice to have
* Knowledge of FIX protocol and common message types such as New Order Single, Order Cancel Request and Execution Report
* Awareness of reference data and key security attributes
* Ability to read and interpret code in .NET, Java/Scala or Python
